KRAKOW: A suspected car thief was tracked down by police after he left his false teeth at the crime scene. Police say Wojtek Lekowsky, 54, broke into a car in Czarna Dabrowka in northwest Poland and stole a stereo, but lost his teeth when he tried to make a quick getaway after the car alarm went off. He was tracked down using dental records. Police charged him with robbery. “He tried to tell us that the teeth were stolen from him and he had not been near the car at the time of the theft. But we knew he was lying through his dentures.”

BEIJING: Residents in a Chinese city are flocking to see a hen that can reportedly make calculations. Guai Guai can ‘peck’ the answer to simple calculations when her owner Li points to numbers on a board and asks questions. The hen, from Shenyang, can also apparently recognise the names of some fruit, cars and animals, reports China Daily. Li said: “I regard the hen as my own daughter and would like to get her into the Guiness Book.
SEARCH ON FOR MISS NUCLEAR 2007
MOSCOW: The search is on in Russia for the sexiest nuclear power plant worker. The competition has been organised by the Nuclear.Ru website which provides news about the nuclear industry in the former Soviet Union. The competition is open to all female employees between 18 and 35 years in nuclear power plants in Russia. Voting will take place online and winners will be given awards at Russia’s atomic energy agency, Rosatom, Moscow.
MAN BREAKS NAILS WITH TEETH
BEIJING: A Chinese man has reportedly trained himself to break nails with his teeth. Cai Dongsheng, 41, from Chongqing city, demonstrated his ‘skill’ to neighbours, reports Chongqiong Business News.
He clamped four 6cm long nails in a vice, wrapped them with gauze to protect his mouth and then gripped them between his teeth. With his cheek muscles bulging, the nails began to bend and — after one minute and 58 seconds — they snapped. Cai says he trained himself after watching a TV show in which a man snapped a nail with his teeth.
