Talking urinals used to fight drunk driving!
In an effort to keep drunk men from getting behind the wheel, New Mexico is trying to get their attention at the place they often visit just before getting into their car.
The state has bought about 500 talking urinal-deodorizer cakes, at a cost of $21 each. It's put them in urinals in men's rooms in bars and restaurants across the state.
When a man steps up, the motion-sensitive device plays a woman's voice that starts out flirty, and then becomes stern. It says, "Hey big guy. Having a few drinks? Think you had one too many? Then it's time to call a cab or call a sober friend for a ride home."
The message ends, "Remember, your future is in your hand."
